How to write a good video script outline

After you have researched your video, the next step is drafting an outline that conveys your main message. An outline is an integral part of how Maekersuite generates the high quality scripts.

A good video script outline starts with an introduction and ends with a conclusion and Call to action. The contents in your main body vary based on which video script framework you are using.

Here is what a good video script outline should include in general:

Introduction

• Hook: Start with a compelling hook to grab the audience's attention during the first 2-5 seconds of your video.
• Introduce the topic: Clearly state what the video is about and why it's relevant or interesting to the viewers.

Main body

• Divide the main body into logical sections or points that support the topic.
• Use bullet points or subheadings to outline key information or steps.
• If applicable, provide examples, anecdotes, or evidence to reinforce your points.

Conclusion

• Provide a brief summary of the main points covered in the video.
• End with a Call to action: Encourage viewers to take a specific action such as subscribing to your channel, visiting your website, or sharing the video.

On Maekersuite, you can also use basic markup to make your outlines visually more readable.

Storytelling frameworks in the outline (Updated 7.3.2024)

This is relevant for you if you are making a lot of edits for the generated outline. If you want to keep the storyline framework, we recommend not adding or changing the order of the main titles in the outline stage of the script writing process. All frameworks start with a Hook followed by each section as specified in the framework structure. These sections are identified by titles. Adding or changing the order of the titles might mess up the script storyline.

You are of course always able to edit these and are not required to use a specific storyline. In that case, you do not need to worry about this.
