Reading the Bar Chart – Compare the Size and Engagement Between Clusters

The Bar Chart quickly maps for you the average views, likes, and comments between topic clusters to help you identify where to place your efforts. In this article, we explain how to properly read the chart.

Maekersuite is a video pre-production tool that helps research and write your scripts to set your video projects up for success. We use data and AI to generate the best possible support for you on your video creation journey.

In your Exploration report, you can find the Bar Chart that easily shows you the average views, likes and number of comments between each Topic cluster. In this article we will explain how to read this graph.

Topic cluster is a set of videos about a specific topic we have identified during the analysis phase. This is our way to make the data more readable for you to actually draw conclusions. To view the videos in each cluster you can scroll further down to the list view.

How to read the graph?

This graph is grouped in sets of three bars representing: average views, average likes, and average comments. (Note that the views number differs from the Bubble Chart where the number represents the total views.)

By clicking any of the keys at the bottom of the chart you can select which bars you will see in the graph.

When comparing graphs from different Exploration reports you should note that the values on the sides differ. Thus you cannot directly compare one graph to another. However, within one Exploration everything is comparable.

Getting started

Looking at the graph you might first want to check which clusters get the most average views, comments and likes. Especially interesting might be the ones where comments or likes are high.

Sometimes you are looking for a smaller niche to take over, especially if you already have a good presence on YouTube. This is a great graph to identify those opportunities. For example, high likes and comments combined with low Avg. views could indicate that the audience in that cluster is extremely engaged and that the cluster has an active community. It might or might not be something you are looking for.

This could also be your way to evaluate your top pics from the Bubble Chart and which one to go for first.
